Ice cream party & Jello experiment

We used Jello today to see all three states of matter - gas: steam from the boiling water, liquid: the water and the jello once it was dissolved in the water, solid: the jello powder before we dissolved it and the jello jigglers once they set.

Making Compound words

We created this wordle for Mrs.Balck's retirement scrapbook. Each student wrote down one or two words that they thought described Mrs. Balck. The bigger the word, the more it was written by a first grader, the smaller the word, the fewer times it was written.

Show and tell

Mo's Dog , sugar, came to visit us for show and tell last week!

Measuring with different units

The students traveled around the room measuring pictures of animals with a ruler of leaves. They had to decide how many leaves long each picture was. The next day they had to compare their lengths based on their findings.
